The market town of S. Lorenzo is located almost in the middle of the Western Puster Valley. The area around S. Lorenzo is made up of a 3km wide valley basin surrounded by an amazing mountain landscape. The gigantic Vedrette di Ries Mountain Group rules over the basin to the north, while the turn off to the Badia Valley in the south provides the "small entry" to the Dolomites.
